An attic doesn't have to be the creepy storage place where spiders set up shop and old memories go to die. An attic is the perfect place for a cool home improvement project like a guest room.

This attic bedroom - featured on the blog Bungalow - feels a bit like a bungalow! Of course, you'd need to finish off the attic. It couldn't be like my parents old storage space with an open ceiling where you can see the nails holding down the shingles. So making sure the ceiling is safe and the floor is solid would be your first steps.

It helps that this attic has a window at the far end. That obviously lets in good natural light. I like the feel of this one with the natural wood and earthy colors. It's a nice design.
