DIY Home Improvement: Garden Path from Old Pallet Boards

pinterest pallet wood garden walkway Funky Junk Interiors 2 16Re-using old pallet boards for a garden path, this homeowner came up with a unique home improvement that gives their home a flavor all its own. I love the design on this project!

Now, this particular article was the re-working from the original "how to build the path" post. Both are great reads with lots of pictures and instruction.

I just love the look of this path and the vintage wood. You can see the homeowner spends time in their yard, and wanted to have a nice look and relaxing place to spend their time.

The wondering plant onthe left adds a nice touch of nature to the path. Of course, you'd probably want to keep it trimmed and in control so it doesn't get out of hand. But it's a cool touch.

I'd also think you'd want to keep a close eye on the path and boards so it doens't become a tripping hazard.

All in all it's a very cool look and a relatively easy weekend project for a yard.

Couldn't one embed the boards into some quickcrete and thus eliminate the tripping hazard and somewhat weatherproof the board? Have these boards been finished with polyurethene?

That's a good suggestion Val. Quickcrete might just make these boards more safe! And polyurethane would also be good for keeping them strong for years to come. Thanks for reading and for the ideas. Cheers!

This idea of using palette wood to make a nature walkway is really cool, and it looks beautiful. You could also build it as a boardwalk to help prevent the tripping risk. All the planks of palette wood would be affixed to a base frame.

Ok. The idea is to use (reuse) items that limit the amount of energy that "we" use to create these special places. Using concrete or quick crete just seems wrong to me. Bruins "score". Beating Pittsburgh badly. Sorry. Keep it natural. Duh,!!,
